Ozone produces single oxygen atom (O) with high oxidation ability. The atom’s oxidization potential reaches 2.07V, which enables many elements in biological cells to react, in order to trigger irreversible changes leading to death. Ozone kills viruses by directly destroying their RNA or DNA. Meanwhile, it kills microorganism such as bacteria or molds by damaging structural elements of their cell membrane, which leads to metabolism malfunction and growth suspension. Afterwards, ozone infiltrates the membrane and keeps damaging tissues inside until the cell is dead. In the disinfection and sterilization process, only harmless oxides are produced. Extra ozone finally deoxidizes into oxygen, leaving no residual or any pollution. This advantage entitles ozone sterilizer to be directly used on food, and distinguishes it from other methods of disinfection.
Ozone sterilizer is widely applicable to sterilization of mineral water, purified water, spring and beverage, municipal running water, and swimming pool. It is also applied for sterilization, anti-mold, preservation and residual pesticide disposal of solid medicine, food, fishery product, fruit and vegetable. Besides, this product can deal with polluted water disposal, decolorization of waste water from printing and COD reduction.
