It is equipment to remove free CO2 ions, so as to reduce the corrosion of free CO2 ions against the hot-water system, condensate system and vapor system of boiler, reduce the load of negative ion exchanger, and improve the economically efficiency of chemical demineralization technology and quality of output water. The decarbonator is consisted of water distribution unit, polyhedral hollow sphere, air blower and water tank. When the decarbonator is working, the water will enter from the top, pass through the water distribution unit and material filling layer, and then go into the water tank from the bottom. The air which is used to remove CO2 is blown into the bottom of the cylinder by the air blower and then discharged from the top after passing through the material filling layer. The working principle is the decarbonization process of mechanical mass transfer. The content of CO2 in the air is relatively little (roughly accounting for 0.3‰ of the atmosphere), so when the air flow which is blown into the decarbonator contacts the decarbonization water, the CO2 in the water will be released and taken away by the air flow. In general, when the decarbonator is set, if the content of HCO3 in the input water is higher than 50mg/L, that of CO2 in the output water will be lower than 5mg/L. The decarbonator is generally installed after the positive ion exchanger or reverse osmosis unit. The decarbonator can be also applied to indoor aeration of preposed filter for the purpose of deferrization and demanganization.
