A negative ion exchanger is demineralization equipment most commonly used in water treatment, which employs the ion selective preference and equilibrium reaction of ion exchange resin. The H+ and OH- adsorbed on the surface of resin conduct displacement reaction with the positive ions in the water so as to remove the soluble ions in the water. It is thus widely applied in such industries as electronics, mechanism, chemical engineering, food, medicine, boiler water supply, etc.
When the exchange volume of ion exchange resin is saturated or the ion exchange resin is contaminated by suspended substances, colloidal substances, organic substances, bacteria, algae, and iron and manganese for a long time, the capacity of ion exchange will be reduced, so the resin shall be recharged irregularly according to actual situations.
When the ion exchange resin is contaminated by iron, the resin will turn dark brown and reduce the content of iron of water input to positive bed. The ground water which has high content of iron shall be treated by aeration and filtered by manganese ore for the purpose of deferrization at first. When the resin is contaminated by iron, it shall be soaked in the highly hydrochloric acid with concentration of 10%-15% for 12 hours to wash for the purpose of deferrization.
